An Otoscope is a tool that shines a beam of light into the ear canal to help visualize and examine many diseases that may have affected the ear canal and/or the eardrum. Examining the ear can reveal the causes of symptoms such as earache, ear discharge, or hearing loss. Otoscope could also be used to detect any foreign objects in the ear.

Hearing assessment tests:

Using a 512-Hz tuning fork also known as the Rinne and Weber tests are tests used to diagnose sensorineural and conductive deafness. In these tests, the tuning fork is vibrated then put at the midforehead or behind the ear. Then the doctor asks the patient which ear hears the sound better.

Sinuscope:

It is a high definition optical scope that ENT specialists use to examine the nose and sinuses. It is used to diagnose nasal septum deviation, nasal polyps and can take a mucous membrane sample with its help.

Laryngoscopy:

It is a small device that your ENT specialist uses to look into your throat and larynx (vocal cords). It helps them diagnose causes of cough, sore throat, vocal nodules and take tumor samples if needed. It can also be used to extract any foreign bodies stuck there.
