These veneers are custom-made according to the shape of your teeth and bonded to the original enamel of the tooth, through a series of dental clinic procedures.

Why are veneers used in dentistry?

Veneers are a less invasive option than crowns or braces, According to the British Dental Health Foundation, veneers can be used to bridge the gaps between their front teeth or to correct small misalignments in the teeth. Patients may also choose veneers as a cosmetic solution to improve the shine of their teeth and their smiles through corrective matters such as removing yellowing, cracks, or cracks.

Porcelain dental veneers

The most commonly used materials for dental veneers are traditional porcelain veneers, contact lenses, and composite resin veneers.   We will focus on the installation of porcelain dental veneers processed through the laboratory:
  • Local anesthesia is not usually required for veneers.
  • However, it can be used when necessary, depending on the sensitivity of the patient.
  • The dentist cleans the tooth and determines the appropriate color tone for the veneers.
  • Then it removes a very small amount of tooth enamel to make room for the veneers to fit over the tooth.
  • The imprint of the tooth is prepared to be given to the laboratory, and a temporary veneer is installed on the tooth after it is perforated in the middle of the tooth away from the sides.

  • The adhesive is applied to what has been prepared, then the stabilizer and veneer are applied to adjust the size and rotation.
  • After that, the veneers are treated with light for 60 seconds on all its surfaces to be installed on the tooth.
  • The dentist will remove any excess material and polish the sides of the veneers.
  • Many dentists schedule a follow-up visit to check on the patient's comfort; The comfortable veneer lasts for a long time.

How to care for a veneer?

The American Society of Cosmetic Dentistry suggests brushing and flossing as with regular teeth, It is imperative to clean the teeth properly using the brush on a daily basis and use non-abrasive toothpaste that contains fluoride. Veneers treatment steps

The treatment is carried out in two stages, which are as follows:
  • The first stage

The doctor places a wax mold in the patient's mouth to take the size of the teeth, then sends it to the laboratory to manufacture dental veneers.

  • The second phase

After two to four weeks, the crusts are ready, then the doctor inspects the crusts on the patient's teeth to make sure that they are suitable in terms of size and color, then installs them and radiates them until they are fixed, after which the doctor cleans the teeth and removes the impurities that appear during the operation.

Note: This procedure does not require anesthesia, and if necessary it is performed under local anesthesia only.

  • Recovery phase

The process of adjusting to your new teeth changing size and shape takes one to two weeks, you must keep your teeth cleaned and flossed daily.

After about a week or two, the dentist will ask you to return to the clinic for the purpose of review and follow-up and to ensure the result and the safety of the gums.

Dental veneers are an acceptable version of the teeth but not a perfect replacement, and it is very common to see slight changes in the color of the dental veneers, which may appear over time as with natural teeth, although there is no doubt that dental veneers will improve your smile and enhance your confidence by yourself.

If you decide to use dental veneers or veneers, consult your dentist and make sure you understand every part of the process and its costs. A beautiful smile makes a great feeling and can increase your confidence and well-being.
